Tanisha Shanee once weighed over 350 pounds, but after 28 years of being morbidly obese, she had enough. Despite having tried various diets and weight loss plans, Tanisha took a different approach. It takes a lot for someone to open up about something, that many may feel ashamed or overwhelmed about. But this book touches on a an issue that I'm sure many females go through, which is weight problems. Sometimes, you need to lead by example. And she is an example of an extraordinary women who overcame a lot to get to the healthy place that she is right now. Her journey wasn't easy but it was definitely doable and she proved that. You have to admire a woman who can love herself enough to want to see change, live a better/healthier life, and actually make it happen. She took no short cuts, no easy way out. We need more women like her in this world. We live in a world, where people still think women can't conquer a lot, but women like her are paving the way, so that women everywhere can learn to love themselves more and especially love the skin they are in.

She should have shared her food plan in the book. After all the title is " How I lost 140 pounds...".

This is an amazing read! It guides you step by step on how to start from the beginning and work towards a healthy lifestyle. It makes you not care about weight loss...It's exactly the boost I needed! It strips your fake beliefs from your real ones and forces you to decipher the needs/wants from your life. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE!! This story must be shared!!
I've tried a lot of books on for losing weight, but none of them really addressed what I was needing. I needed a book that was going to motivate me, and give me a day to day look at what I need to do to shed the pounds.

This book is it. There are some great tips in here and the stuff the author shares really hits the nail on the head. It's motivating to me to know that she experienced a lot of the same denials that we all do when it comes to allowing ourselves that one extra snack, and I love the idea of what she shares about using a journal, and what to put in the front of it.

This book is definitely a keeper for me. I want to be able to reference back to it as needed. And another bonus is the smoothie recipes in the back. I've never made a smoothie before, but with these recipes, I'm more than ready to try it. And I thought the before and after pictures in the back are an awesome motivator. I'm ready to get started on my own journey!
